SecureHer was born in a Tokyo café in 2022, when three solo female travelers — frustrated by generic travel advice that ignored women's specific safety needs — decided to build the platform they wished had existed when they first traveled alone.

The Tokyo Café Conversation
Founders Yuki, Amara, and Nora meet at a co-working space in Shibuya and discover they've all had the same frustrating experience: generic travel advice that completely ignores women's specific safety needs. SecureHer is conceived on a napkin.
Beta Launch & First 500 Members
We launch a beta version of the safety index and accommodation vetting guide. Word spreads through women's travel communities on Instagram and Facebook. 500 members join in the first month — twice our target.
Quick Pixel Pro & Emergency Tools
We launch the community stories platform and our emergency planning system — two features that become our most-used and most-loved tools. The community grows to 5,000 members across 60 countries.
10,000 Members & Global Expansion
SecureHer hits 10,000 members. We add 80 new destinations to our safety index, launch our packing systems library, and partner with women's safety NGOs in 12 countries to improve our on-the-ground data.
